SOUTH INDIA FLOODS - 2021

In November 2021, Chennai faced its worst floods in years due to Depression BOB 05. The heavy rains, reaching up to 23 centimeters, led to widespread flooding and disruption. As the storm hit, neighborhoods in north Chennai experienced knee-deep water, while central areas were hardest hit, with canals overflowing and homes inundated. Despite the challenges, communities came together to support each other. The toll was heavy, with lives lost and homes damaged. Relief efforts were swift, with volunteers and authorities working tirelessly to aid those affected. Through the lens of photojournalism, the story of Chennai's resilience unfolded—a city facing adversity head-on, yet standing strong in the face of nature's fury.
